With 35 years international experience with IBM in marketing, finance, software development and general management, Bob has a commanding grasp of the role of IT in a business context, particularly in relation to e-commerce.

As Chairman and Managing Director of IBM Australia and General Manager, Australia and New Zealand, Bob was instrumental in the 1990s reinvention of IBM as a market leader. He oversaw the streamlining and expansion of the company and a refocussing of its management structure from a highly divisionalised to a team-based culture.

He also supervised the establishment of IBM Global Services Australia Ltd, a joint venture with Telstra and Lend Lease, making it the largest IT services provider in Australia.
